Swimming At first I didn’t know how to swim, so when we had our first day of swimming I was nervous. But before that our teacher explained to us what we needed to use in swimming, such as swim suits, goggles, and swimming caps. When we began the swimming class, our teacher first tested us on how much we knew and then placed us in different levels. The different levels are level one, level two, and level three. When I was tested I ended up being on level one.
In level one, we first worked on breathing. I had to put my face in the water and then do bubbles. After, we were supposed to learn how to do streamlines. To do that, my arms would be crossed and next to my ears. Then my legs would be straight and kick up and down. When doing that I am supposed to do bubbles. I also needed to make sure that my arms and legs would not bend and that my head was facing straight down. I successfully then knew how to do the streamline.
In level 2, I had to learn how to do freestyle. Learning how to do freestyle was much harder than learning how to do the streamline. This time our arms have to go through the water one by one while crossed. When you are on the right arm we were supposed to put your head to the side but don’t stick out your head all the way. I had to make sure that when my head went to the side to breathe in air, the other side would remain to stay by my ear. My arms and legs also have to to remain straight while doing bubbles.
Unfortunately, I did not get to go to level three because I did not complete the freestyle lap. I only achieved to go half way of doing the freestyle. I would eventually like to complete the freestyle lap.
